Melissa Franks Shaw
With a passion for writing and an adventurous life as the wife of a civil engineer and mother to a teenage son, I have happily embraced the opportunity to strike out on my own as a freelance writer and editor!
As a freelancer, I have had the opportunity to work with authors, legal teams, fundraising professionals, and non profits. Each experience has given me the opportunity to grow my skill set and contribute to the success of others striving to reach important professional and personal goals.
Prior to forming Love & Typeset in 2014, I worked for the public relations firms The Bartlett Group in Seattle, Washington and Wilson McHenry in San Francisco, California. I very much enjoyed my time with each firm and benefited from the varied experience each afforded me.
A graduate of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University, I majored in Print Journalism with a focus study area of Civil Rights. While attending undergraduate school, I was the public relations intern for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University School in Pullman, Washington and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland, Oregon.
